'The Queen's Gambit' - Experimental Website
The Brief: Communicate a story in a web-based digital experience.
Timeline: Four Weeks of Development
This website was created for my first-year Interaction Design course, my introduction to a new application, Figma. This website is the culmination of the skills I have learnt from this course, which have been recognized by the RGD community in the RGD 2024 Student Awards, and given an honourable mention.
The intended audience for this project is those who want a grasp of what the Netflix show 'The Queen's Gambit' is about. It's for individuals trying to understand the show's mood/plot and the protagonist's character. It's also designed for individuals who have already watched the show, providing a stylized replay of the show's story and theme.
Video Format
This project aimed to capture the story of 'The Queen's Gambit' through an interactive website to leave an impression on the viewer. This was done by going through the story as the protagonist (Speaking, narrating, and interacting like her), interactive elements (such as doors/moving chess pieces/lockpicking minigame), responsive animations, and creative writing with background music (to set a mood). This website connects the viewer to the show's characters and sets a mood, creating a unique user experience which leaves a memorable impression.
